Prayer Build

Rock County Habitat for Humanity is planning to surround a family with love by building a “Prayer House.” in 2010. Each congregation is invited to be directly involved in the construction of the new home by helping to purchase the wall studs needed for framing. Sunday school classes, families, or individuals may purchase 2x4's for $2.50 per piece and write a prayer on each board. These boards will be used to build the “Prayer House.” It takes 550 wall studs to build an average Habitat home, and we can’t get started until we have the lumber, so we need your help. Habitat will be contacting your Pastor and Mission Committee with more details. We hope your church will participate, as we help a family start a new phase in their lives, encircled by your many blessings. Members of the participating congregations will be welcome to tour the home, read the prayers that were written, and attend the house blessing when the house is finished. Of course, you are always encouraged to help build. Remember that you do not need any special skills-- just a desire to help. This “Prayer House” is a way for the Christian Community to come together and give its prayers and well wishes to the new homeowners.
